Ok...so maybe it wasn't last harvest

Well I was wrong it looks like I have alot more veggies coming in. My cayenne finally turned red! My pimento peppers which did absolutely nothing all summer have begun to grow. I have more green peppers and habaneros coming in. I am hoping that the first frost can stay away long enough to get a second harvest. I was able to get 6 tomatoes and about 20 habaneros out of the first harvest, not bad for a newbie. I have enclosed the new pictures of my garden.

Still waiting for the cayenne....but look an orchid!

So here is the picture of the orchid I got for my birthday. This is the first houseplant I have ever owned, so we shall see how it goes. I have also included a picture of my vegetables that I harvested minus a few habaneros. I am still waiting on the cayenne. It seems like they will never turn red. If they don't, than I will have green chilies! Enjoy the pics!

The Last Harvest

I want to thank everyone who viewed my post this season, it has been a pleasure. These are the final pictures of my garden. The green peppers are done for the season, I picked three and I have one more trying to grow. I got alot of habaneros and cayennes. I am just waiting for the cayennes to turn red. I have included pictures. I have already started planning next year's garden. I want to plant eggplants, zucchini and beets among other things. I recieved a orchid for my birthday from a very good friend, so I will posting pictures of it and blogging the progress of its growth.

Eureka! I have vegetables!

Well finally after two long months I have vegetables in my rooftop garden! I am very excited. I have about four green peppers, two tomatoes and two bushes full of habaneros! I can not wait until everything is ripe enough to pick so I can truly enjoy my garden. I have enclosed some pictures of all of my new vegetables.

My garden is really doing great. It is more than I could have hoped for. My project was a success. I showed that you do not need a lot of room or grass to grow food for your family. I hope that others will take my lead and give it a try, it is a very rewarding experience.

Just waiting for veggies....

Well it has been almost two months since I started my garden and my plants are huge. I can't wait to harvest my first crop. All of my plants have buds on them now and I should have some veggies in about a month or so. I have already decided that next year I want to plant strawberries. Here is the newest picture of my garden.

It's Alive.....

Well it has been two weeks since I have posted and I have baby veggies! I am very excited the garden has really taken off in the last week. It has been in the 90s here with several thunderstorms plus a lot of heat. I will be updating more regularly. I have included pictures of the baby veggies below.

The plant on the right is my tomato plant, the one on the left is my green pepper plant.

My other pepper plants are doing well too. I can not wait to see new buds on those. As soon as I see them, you will see them. I have also included a before and after picture of my garden. I planted my garden about a month ago and I am amazed by the progress in one month. Well I hope you enjoy the pictures and check back for more.

So many plants, So little time...

So, since the last time I posted I have been very busy. First of all my green pepper plants have new growth! I am very excited. My rooftop garden is doing well and it is finally starting to warm up so they should really take off soon. I have also been working on a few friends yards and finally have the pictures for that. First I put a vegetable garden into my friends backyard, which includes tomatoes, green and yellow peppers and habanero peppers. My big project though is still in progress but I have pictures of the progress. I am redoing another friend's front flower bed. So far I have ripped out all the dead plants and bushes and completely weeded it. Second, I put in two azelea bushes and transplanted bluebells from the backyard to the front yard. The next step will be to put pavers across the front with small ground cover flowers in between. I have had help from my mom with the flower bed. Thanks Mom! So stay tuned because I have two other projects that I am going to be starting in the next two weeks. Just to note all of these projects are urban gardens!
